When priority increases, the tasks move to have the top priorities at the top, which makes sense! But I have my tasks arranged by timeline of the project (top tasks are due sooner and so forth). Once I add a high priority to a task, my order goes away.
Another situation where I want specific task order even if the priority changes placement: I have a “Comments/Questions” tasks for random conversations clients might need that are not directly related to a task (like a messages task). This task is always at the top of our first column (Project HQ) for ease of clients accessing it. I would love to be able to pin it there, regardless of it having no priority assigned.
