Toggle Comments On/Off in Status Columns

I use four status columns in Workflow for gathering feedback on websites and to help clients visualize where in the process their project is. Right now, clients can leave comments while the project is in every status column. It would be wonderful to have the ability to pause commenting or turn it on independently for each status column.

For example: A client could comment while their project is in the Major Revisions column. But if I move the project into the Design Updates column, I could turn off the ability to comment for any project in that status column. That way, clients wouldn’t be able to add new bits of feedback while the design is actively changing.
